Managed services are typically considered to be the monitoring of databases, applications, web processes and of any periodic interfaces. It also includes any routine maintenance activity like software patching, database cloning, migration of servers and manning a helpdesk. Apps Associates wants to extend this model to cover the development activity as part of the managed services and save the customers the heavy onsite and offshore hourly rates that some times put the client projects on-hold for the high consulting price tag.

Our deep understanding of Oracle Applications and our methodology gained from the many years of consulting experience is making this activity very efficient and cost effective for our customers.

The Approach

The success of this approach is very dependent on the methodology of execution and the experience, motivation and dedication of the onsite staff. Apps Associates places industry reputed consultants, onsite to manage this process, who also were personally involved in forming this methodology and mastered the execution.

The onsite consultant(s) will be completely accountable and be the single point of contact for the customer. They will be responsible for collecting the requirements from users, managing the design, execution, testing, deployment and support with the offshore team.

Depending on the support level, the onsite consultant will be spending 1, 2 or 5 days a week at the client site. During the remaining days, the consultant will still be available for the client for conference calls or any offshore coordination. The onsite consultant will be responsible for consolidating the status reports and producing one weekly status reports to the client.

Technical extensions of all the modules in Oracle Applications: Financials, Manufacturing, Order Management, Human Resources and Project Accounting
Implementation of CRM Modules: iStore, iPayment, iSupport, Knowledge Base, Service Contracts, Oracle Service, Depot Repairs, Install Base, Sales Online, Sales offline, field sales and field service
Development using the tools: SQL, PLSQL, Forms, Reports 6i & 9i, Forms 6i & 9i, Workflow Builder, alerts, Java, J2EE, JSP, OA Framework, XML and SOA
Development and support for Business Objects reports
Development and support for Optio reports and XML Publisher
Testing Implementations and Extensions
Support for periodic interfaces in production. We will monitor your standard and custom daily, weekly and monthly interfaces and resolve the issues proactively
DBA Monitoring Activities: Monitoring your database, application, web, mobile processes and the database, server sizing and fixing these issues proactively
DBA Help Desk: Manning a help desk 24/7 by phone, email and Internet Messaging
DBA Scheduled Activities: Application Patching, Database Cloning, Database and server migrations

Our clients will be able to benefit from our vast experience in Oracle Applications. The support calls can be anywhere from workflow/interface issues to any business process improvements.

Centre of Excellence : Apps Associates constantly researches and works on the cutting edge products and often we implement those on our local Oracle instances. We have also been able to do some prototypes for the client requirements on our servers before they can decide on the course of action. An example of this is the data conversions for all the Financial and MFG objects being converted in 10 days.
