Apps Associates uses Linux as the standard operating system for their offshore development center Open Source tools used in various Products and Applications ShipConsole the flagship product of Apps Associates has been developed and also implemented at a clients' on the Linux operating system. As part of the development process, the offshore product development team uses open source version control tools " CVS " and " Subversion". ShipConsole has been developed on the Tomcat web server which in turn has been hosted on the Linux operating system. POS the point of sale application developed for Ironage Corporation will be deployed on the Linux operating system. The front-end-component of POS uses MySql, the forerunner in Open Source databases. Apps Online, an in-house application developed for Apps Associates to cater to the Time sheets, Invoicing and Payments has been developed using the J2EE technologies, MySQL as the database and JBoss as the application server.
